The Truth About Natural Skin Care

The Truth About Natural Skin Care - OmMade Organic Skincare

Most women would use at least one type of skincare as part of their daily routine. Choices are normally made on the benefits for you. Will it reduce fine lines? Will it clear up blemishes or help you get rid of acne? Until recently, not much thought was given to the chemicals in these products and how it affected us.

OmMade Organic Skincare started back in 2013, and since then the natural skin care industry has exploded. More and more women are wanting a great skincare product but are looking for something more natural.

If you’re not already converted, here are a few reasons to swap over to Natural Skincare:

Why Choose Natural Skin Care

We have a saying at OmMade Organic Skincare – If you can’t eat it, don’t put it on your skin.

Did you know your body absorbs what you put on your skin? You wouldn’t eat all of the chemicals that come in most skin care products, so don’t put it on your skin.

Wow! This is what we are putting on our skin….

When you switch over to using Natural Skincare products, not only are you doing your body a favour, but good natural skincare products are normally also good for the environment.

How to Choose a Good Natural Skin Care Product

Choosing 100% natural skin care can be confusing. What is truly natural?
Have you heard of the term Greenwashing? Greenwashing is considered an unsubstantiated claim to deceive consumers into believing that a company’s products are environmentally friendly.

Many businesses know that consumers are looking for more environmentally friendly products and natural alternatives, so they use marketing to make their products seem like they are. Although quite a common practice, this behaviour is very misleading and results in many consumers being sold poor quality products. You just have to take a stroll down the skin care isle in the supermarket to see various forms of Greenwashing.

Here's a huge tip to help you find out if you are truly getting a natural skincare product that is also environmentally friendly.....

  • Look at the ingredients – If you see a list of numbers and words you’ve never heard of, you can be pretty sure it’s not 100% natural or organic.

Here’s an example of what an Ommade Organic Skincare product ingredient list looks like:

Shea butter*, coconut oil*, bentonite clay, fullers earth clay, sandalwood powder*, arrowroot powder*, magnesium hydroxide powder*, eucalyptus essential oil(EO)*, tea tree EO*, cinnamon EO*, lemon EO*, lavender EO*. *Denotes Organic
